Making pieces that feel fresh yet timeless is my mission. I want a piece to look just as at home in your neighborhood boutique as it does in an estate sale. The Southwest, Modernism and 70’s babes are all in my well of inspiration.
I love slicing into stones that look like nothing special from the outside and finding wild patterns and surprising colors. Always hunting for rocks, sometimes in the wild but I'll also plan road trips around tiny rock shops, keep my eye on the classifieds and make friends with old rock hounds. Stones from the western part of the US are almost exclusively used. I like to keep the footprint of my little business as small as I can as well as celebrate what makes the West special.
My education has been through other jewelers and studios like Silvera in Berkeley and the Pioneer Craft House (RIP) in Salt Lake City. Silversmithing, stone cutting and lost wax casting are all part of my processes. I live in Salt Lake City with my husband and two girls. My Sugarhouse studio is open to visitors Monday-Friday.
